Inland Croatia property for sale: Country house and land at Pleškovec.
Ref: 1875 Pleškovec Lily
A charming property with a secluded driveway leading to a pretty country style house located at Pleškovec in the most sought after region of Upper Međimurje. Set in a beautiful rural environment about fifteen minute drive from the county capital city of Čakovec, the two-bedroom house has plenty also features plenty of utility space with large outbuildings and cellars.
The house (right) and outbuildings (far-ground) as seen from the end of the approach road. The road continues as a farm track into the forest to the right of this scene.
The original well, corn-drying frame and outbuildings viewed from the courtyard.
The structure and fittings show the full renovations carried out a few years ago, this included the connection to all utilities, new doors and windows, re-roof, central heating and much more. The upper window is the location of the 2nd bedroom, the middle level (left) is the main bedroom, to the right is the kitchen and, just visible, are the sub basement windows at the lower level.
The approach is a public road but this property is the final building so it has the feel of your own long driveway (except you don't have to maintain it!). Otherwise, you are surrounded by paddock/vineyard and local woods.
The entrance driveway and courtyard.
The rear of the house is clearly a substantial extension which contains the main entrance doorway, entrance hall and new bathroom. At the lower level, there is also an extensive workshop (Contact us for photos please). Behind the shrubbery is another 'lower' paddock of grassland.
The 'upper' paddock as seen from the main courtyard. It retains a small section of vines which give a nod to its wine-making heritage.
The outbuilding has two sections, to the left is a smaller area currently given over to agricultural style storage. To the right is a much larger double-height building.
Entering the house via the new main entrance door, you'll see the ground floor is up a few steps. There is a half-depth basement or perhaps the two floors could best be described as "lower ground" and "upper ground". The staircase leads to....
... a central hallway which has direct access to the new bathroom (right) and to the original house (behind the camera). The door to the left is the entrance from the stairway (previous image).
The upper ground floor of the extension contains this large and well fitted bathroom. Everything is modern and it contains a bathtub, shower cubicle, WC, wash basin, bidet and vanity unit. Unusually for Croatia, the washing machine is not in the bathroom!
Fully tiled, large radiator...
Leaving the bathroom and going through the entrance hall into the original building bring you to this centrally located space currently serving as a dining room. The two open doorways lead (left) to the kitchen and (right) to the main bedroom. The closed wood-panelled door leads to a second centrally located staircase which leads to the basement and upper level.
First to the kitchen, a good size and well laid out. It carries a mixture of the modern whilst retaining a traditional country feel to it. You may notice the complete absence of things/clutter, that's possible because the kitchen has a walk-in pantry/utility room - next.
Currently there is a door to separate this room from the main kitchen, if that were removed, it would create a larger and more open 'L' shaped kitchen.
The main bedroom is large and has plenty of natural light.
Viewed from the top paddock, the first glimpse your visitors will see.... and the last!
The layout and orientation as shown in the national land register.
