A pair of holiday apartments in the hills of Štrigova.
€59,000 - SOLD: subject to contract completion.
A country retreat located on a hill top location with a spectacular view over the hills of Međimurje.
There are a number of key attractions to this property not least is the breathtaking view from very large out-door terraces featured in both apartments. They are connected via a side staircase which enables the entire property to be used as a single house.
[7.75m x 6.5m max]
a short YouTube clip of the view from the terraces.
Starting with the upper apartment (located at ground level), this is the terrace which dominates and sets the scene. There is ample space to spend the long hot summer days and evenings outside whilst being protected from direct sunlight. Fully tiled, well decorated and furnished, this is the kind of space available only at most expensive international hotels.
Immediately behind the terrace is this nicely put together kitchen and breakfast/drinks bar. Glass doors separating the two can mostly be pushed apart to give effectively a gargantuan open space.
Staying in the same room (as above pic), there's plenty of room for more formal dining, with an indoors or open feel, however you wish.
[6.5m x 6.1m]
A door from the dining room leads to this galley style bath/shower room. Everything is spotless and is in fine shape. Some re-tiling was about to be started at the time of our visit.
[4.5m x 1.4m]
The only bedroom is on a grand scale and is well decorated. There's plenty of room for extra beds should you require. If you don't want to share, there's another apartment just downstairs.
[4.4m x 4.5m]
Moving down to the lower apartment, it also has a rear facing aspect so there is no feeling of being in a sub basement, it enjoys the same view as the upper apartment and looks down and out onto the vineyards. The terrace is equally huge and, showing it's design as more a holiday place than residential, the kitchen/bar is located outside on the terrace.
[8.5m x 3.3m]
As is the case in the upper apartment, the large living space enjoys a 'glass wall' connection with the terrace. For those of us keen on 'en masse' group holidays, this can serve as a third (very large) bedroom.
[5.0m x 4.7m]
Continuing the theme of large and airy rooms, the lower apartment bedroom has plenty of space for extra beds if you wish. If not, there's still plenty of space to dance and not fall over anything.
[4.5m x 2.8m]
Copying the upper apartment again, the well equipped and nicely decorated bathroom has everything you need and all in very good condition.
[4.8m x 1.3m]
Behind the lower apartment, completely underground, is this large room which was once used to process the wines from the associated vineyard. It maintains the same cool temperature year round. It awaits your imagination for a new use.
[4.25m x 3.25m]
Viewed from the upper terrace, there is a grassy terrace at the lower level, ideal for sun worshippers. The vineyard beyond is all part of this property. If you have no wish to get involved in the upkeep of a vineyard, there are a number local people who will take it and you'll get 'ample' of your own wine by way of rent. The current owners have been doing this for years, the arrangement suits both absent owners and local wine producers.
There is a garage at the upper level. The current owners go home (to Australia) every winter and leave their car here. They tell us they've never had a hint of any break-ins or similar trouble on the property for the seventeen years they've been coming and going.
The borders of the plot are shown here are an estimation. North is up. The terraces face SE.
